T and I found ourselves discussing marriage during the last trip we took together --
I've been having this crazy idea of eloping to Vegas and get hitched a'la Britney Spears (minus the divorce, of course!) ...
"Let's get married ... in Vegas. Just the two of us."
"Yes, why not. Let's do it."
And that, my dearest, was how it all started.
T asked if I'm a diamond ring kinda girl -- probably expecting I'd jump with joy and say "Yes". But I'm not. As much as it is great to have a piece of princess cut diamond on one's ring finger; I guess I'd be happier with Sapphire (or Amethyst) and my
Earlier today, we discussed how we're going to do it -- being of different religious beliefs and all. And we finally came to a decision; something that will make both sides of the families happy :)
So we decided on a date -- still a long way to go but it will definitely give us some ample time to prepare. I told T I'd like to have a beach wedding (but I'd settle for a vineyard or garden ones if we can't decide on the right beach -- as long as it is outdoor) and he suggested Cape Hatteras in NC.
It's a pretty sight with lighthouse and all; but unfortunately flowers, chairs etc. are prohibited. And I want all that.
T wants something intimate. We both do.
Something I can't have here in Malaysia -- considering the fact I'm the only child and my parents' would want to invite the whole family.
I jumped at the chance of having a small reception with just close friends/families. I have very few friends in the States so most of the guests will be from T's side anyway.
If you're reading this, Alia .. I'm expecting you to be there on my big day.
I have over a year to deal with preparation. But one of my bestie, SS, said time will fly very fast and she thinks I should start putting things together as early as possible.
Well not easy to do when one's wedding is going to be held half the world away right?
